  • Ephemeral Highways is an ambient, musical fusion of open, spacious atmospheric sounds woven together to create a relaxing and inspiring musical journey. Layered keyboard recordings intertwine and float above an imaginative array of percussive elements. Recorded over a span of four years, by multi-faceted musician/composor Gregory Kyryluk, this massage music offers an uplifting soundtrack for listeners departing on their own journeys, whether on the open road or through the passages of everyday life.

Listeners who have commented on the effect of playing Ephemeral Highways describe it as making them feel “ infinite, creative and boundless.”

    Gregory Kyryluk

Composer and arranger Gregory Kyryluk has been composing music since acquiring his first professional keyboard, a Moog synthesizer back in the early 1980s. Primarily a self- taught musician, Gregory released his early music under the aliases of Alpha Wave Movement, Open Canvas and Thought Guild. Gregory also served as the recording engineer in order to make Ephemeral Highways as personal a recording as possible.

Gregory’s own journey through the landscape of late 20th century music is also reflected in his album, Ephemeral Highways. Other artistic influences come from film composers John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and other musicians including Pat Methany, Genesis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Bryan Eno and Steve Roach and various up and coming 1980s independent labels including early Windham Hill and ECM recordings of the mid 1970s and early 1980s.

Since 1993, Gregory has released seven solo albums, three collaborative releases as well as music for various CD compilations. All reflect a musical blend of introspective ambient music, space music and the rhythmic undulating sounds of the Middle East and India. Gregory’s compositions as Alpha Wave Movement were featured in the 1998 computer generated video, Eye Candy and also received airplay on the nationally syndicated radio show Hearts of Space and various radio shows throughout Europe.

Composing and arranging instrumental music opens a doorway through which I can communicate my art. My creative intent is to compose music that builds on and interprets my experience of place derived from everyday life and passing landscapes when I travel. The quality of light at different times of the day – and my appreciation of the natural world—helps to feed my creative muse.

There’s a need for intelligent music or music that helps the listener recharge and unwind at the same time that is still substantial enough to stand up on its own as modern music of today.”
