Michael Zampi's mastery of acoustic guitar styles is prominently on display in his guitar album series, REFLECTIONS OF BEAUTY. This album collection represents and is inspired by three outstanding geographic areas in the U.S. - The Appalachian Trail, The Rocky Mountains and The Chesapeake Bay. His music is used worldwide by healing arts professionals including Harvard Medical School which is using Michael's music in their "Mind and Body Healing Program". Massage and bodywork professionals, yoga instructors and reflexologists also give Michael's music high praise for enhancing their work and the client experience.

Michael's instrumental compositions are written for the acoustic guitar and blended with piano, flute and strings. He owns 14 guitars but favors his Taylor 814 CD. His guitar instrumentals also appear in commercials, movies and films and on PBS Specials. Inspired by a wide variety of musical styles since his youth in upstate New York where his family owned a music store, Michael composes new age, folk, country, blues, jazz, rock, and pop music in his recording studio and he volunteers his time to create compilation CDs for regional songwriters.

When not in the studio Michael can be found outside, enjoying kayaking, mountain climbing, or lounging on the beach...

A NATURAL TALENT
Beauty of Nation's Parks is
inspiration for musician's CDs

Note: The following review is excerpted from an article about Michael Zampi that ran in the Annapolis, MD newspaper, The Capital Gazette, www.capitalgazette.com

Mike Zampi considers it a compliment if people fall asleep listening to his music.  While this would make some artists shudder, he wants his acoustic tributes to the nation's parks and natural wonders to evoke peacefulness and calm.

"There's so much beauty in this world," the 49 year-old said. "You have to do something with it. You can't just take it for granted."

"If you want a great life, you can make it happen for yourself," he said recently while sitting in his studio, surrounded by instruments  and lots of CDs - his own and those of other artists he's worked with. Paul Harrison is among them. The two recorded a CD called "The Rocky Mountains".  Mr. Harrison said Mr. Zampi has the technical expertise to produce a good recording and the communication skills to make musicians feel at ease. "One thing that really stands out is that he's very positive and encouraging," he said. "It's hard not to be comfortable recording at his place."

Mr. Zampi didn't come by his success for his positive outlook on life easily.  He's the first one to admit he had a rough childhood, weathered many career changes and battle a host of medical problems.  But he's never let anything defeat him.  "Yeah, I get down at times, but I've kicked myself in the butt." he said, flashing a smile. "A lot of people have learned self-helplessness, I've had a lot of challenges and I've fixed my own problems."

His philosophy is something he's writing down in yet another project, a book that he calls "Passion Into Power."  "It talks about how to achieve everything you want in life and connect desire and passion into a go-to plan," he explained.

Mr. Zampi started taking music lessions as a child and went through rock and even speed metal phases.  Now, he concentrates on relaxing instrumentals that he hopes are ideal for use by professionals like massage therapists or yoga instructors, or anyone looking to unwind.

"The thing that always comes to mind with Michael is what a special person he is," said Annapolis filmmaker Steven Fischer, who has used Mr. Zampi's music in his films. "There seems to be a light around him that shines extra bright.  He's one of those little gems in the rough."
