The makers claim their alarm clock wakes you up more naturally as a gentle chime is less jarring than a typical electronic alarm noise. I say: they’re right. I’ve used this clock for over ten years and it works as advertised.
Soleil Sun Alarm $89.95
While this alarm includes the usual functions, it’s got the added capability of simulating sunrise, bringing us back to our roots – when sunlight naturally awoke us.
The Peaceful Progression Wake Up Clock $69.95
This clock has some serious technology to back it, gently waking the user through sound, smell and sight. According to the manufacturer, “thirty minutes before wake-up, the clock’s light begins to glow softly, brightening over the next half-hour. The warmth from the lamp releases faint aromatherapy scents into the air to stimulate olfactory senses. Fifteen minutes before wake-up, the clock generates your choice of six soft nature sounds, such as ocean surf or songbirds. A beeper sounds at the end of the cycle.” At the moment of truth I was hoping perhaps for a nice steaming cup of coffee, but no.
