Why Webinars? TFT’s wacky world of monkeys, dogs and miniskirts
Webinars and TV are cousins.
Why are we attracted to live TV? You never know what will happen next: the batter hits a home run, the figure skater scores a perfect 10, a monkey jumps on the talk show host’s head. So far, at our webinars, no monkeys, but we’ve had our share of fun and excitement, and so has our audience.
Why would I want to attend a webinar?
Are you an active MT? Do you need CE hours? Do you hate having to travel far away for CE courses? Would you like to learn about new educators? Do you want to save money? Answer “yes” to any of the above and keep on reading. Answer “yes” to several… sign up now for our next webinar!
Is the technology difficult to handle? Can I do it?
Quick answer: if you’ve ever watched a YouTube video on your computer, you can do a webinar…E…A…S…Y!
What the %$@# is a webinar?
Many people hear the term “webinar” and scratch their heads… Is it a puzzle? Is it a special place you go to? The answer is: it’s like a live workshop or seminar, except it’s on your computer – it’s online. You watch a webinar like you’d watch a TV show, and you learn from what you watch. You don’t go anywhere: no hotel, no conference center. Ahem…correction: you go to your computer, you find the email with your “invitation” (we send it to you the day before). Then you click on the link. It’s really that easy.
Now what?
A screen opens up, and you’re in! At this point, you’ll know you’re in the right place. You will see a title for the webinar and the date. Now that you’re “in” the webinar, the only thing you do is make sure your speakers are on, so you can hear what the presenters are saying.
Send us your questions!
When you show up on the actual webinar date, you watch the presenters, and you can ask questions. If a presenter says something confusing…send us a question. We’re busy all day fielding live questions from the audience. Presenters appreciate questions, and the questions help them deliver more relevant, useful remarks to you and all attendees.
Wardrobe malfunction
Webinars are not flawless. Mistakes happen. One time, we had a presenter named “Max”. (Not his real name – we want to protect the guilty.) Max had a model on a massage table for his live video demo. We never expected Max to put a female model on the table who was wearing a micro-miniskirt. For the entire demo we were sure that sooner or later Max would inadvertently push the woman’s miniskirt up by accident and expose her underwear to the world. Well, not the whole world, but that’s what it felt like to us. Spoiler alert: no undies were exposed, but we were sweating bullets for 30 minutes.
Needless to say, we now tell ALL our presenters what their models should wear: sports bras, cycling shorts, etc. And we’ve never had a wardrobe malfunction.
It’s a dog’s world
Animals have appeared at our webinars. Recently we had two outstanding presenters, Heath and Nicole Reed. At the beginning of the demo, Nicole was preparing the audience by taking them through a series of yoga-style stretches. And just at the moment when she went into a downward dog pose, who should appear, but their own cute dog, a border collie. And right there, as if on cue, Heath and Nicole’s dog went into its very own downward dog pose.
We take a short break after two presentations. We pause the action, and we tell everyone: get a snack! Get a drink! Go to the restroom! After 15 minutes we start up again.
When we broadcast a webinar, it’s like a live TV production: a series of well-known massage educators, one after the other, appear on camera. Each one takes center stage and presents an interesting and entertaining 90 minute topic on massage therapy. And you see it all.
Big value, small price
You want value. CEs are necessary to obtain, but even better is a production that delivers lots of useful knowledge, new techniques, inspiring presenters…and CE hours. And that’s our mission. The icing on the cake is 9 CE hours, but the cake is made up of several top notch presenters. Maybe you’ll find one who inspires you to new heights of professional accomplishment and satisfaction. And that’s our goal.
Quizzes & answers and certificates…oh my!
When you sign up for a webinar with us, you get access to all presentations, quizzes and CE certificates. One price for everything. You take the quizzes online also, and once you pass each quiz (they are not difficult) each CE certificate will be instantly emailed to you.
The MOST ASKED question of all…
“What if I’m busy on the webinar day? Do you record the presentations?” No worries. Yes. We record all presentations, and your purchase of the webinar gives you on demand access to all presentations for 90 days. You can watch once, or you can watch 35 times. It’s up to you.
What’s left?
I think that’s it. Just sign up, you’ll be very glad you did.
Yours truly,
